Bernard is the President at MacCorkle Insurance Services, Inc. Prior to coming to MacCorkle Insurance Services, he was a Senior Account Executive at CIGNA Health Care. Bernard was responsible for CIGNA's Employee Benefit Product sales and service to clients with more than 200 employees. A list of his clients would include Franklin Resources, Heald Colleges, Loomis Armored, Salvation Army, Santa Clara University, Siliconix, Tandem Computers, Pepsi-Cola, and the
United Way. While at CIGNA, he established
numerous national sales records, many of which still stand.
In addition, Bernard was also instrumental in the formation of both a capitated medical and dental plan in the San Francisco Bay Area. He was also very fortunate to have participated in one of the first 24-Hour pilot programs some 10 years ago. Bernard is one of only about 5,500 people in this country who have a professional designation as a certified employee benefits specialist, offered through the International Foundation of Employee Benefits and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He holds membership in the International and Northern California Society of Employer Benefit Specialists and is the co-chair of the membership committee of the Northern California Human Resource Council. Through the Society of Human Resource Managers, Bernard has qualified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR).
Bernard is also currently serving on a Health Care Broker Advisory Council to one of the largest managed care companies in the United States and on the advisory board for a large Property & Casualty Insurance carrier. In addition, he is a board member for the San Mateo Community College Foundation and the advisory board for United American Bank. Bernard is a featured speaker at numerous seminars and is published in his field. Bernard has furthered his insurance education and successfully passed the examinations for both a Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and a Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).
Bernard is a graduate of the University of California at Davis, where he earned a degree in economics. He is a native of San Francisco and lives in the "city" with his wife.
