Compensation
Base Salary - People are our competitive advantage, and we understand the importance of highly competitive base pay programs. Pay studies are conducted annually to make sure our base pay programs stay on the leading edge.
Variable Pay Programs
- MacCorkle Incentive/Bonus Program - MacCorkle’s semi-annual bonus/incentive program is designed to reward achievement of individual and business objectives. As with any incentive plan, participation is not automatic, and all incentive payments are contingent on individual job performance and on MacCorkle meeting its overall business and financial objectives.
- 401(k) Plan - The MacCorkle 401(k) Plan encourages you to accumulate savings for retirement through convenient pretax payroll deductions and generous company contributions ($.75 per $1.00 of your contributions to a maximum of 14% of your eligible payroll). You are eligible to participate in MacCorkle’s 401 (k) Plan on the first day of the calendar quarter following your date of hire.
Medical Benefits

That’s why MacCorkle offers a wide variety of high-quality health insurance plans, flexible spending accounts, and survivor and income protection plans as part of our flexible benefits program. This program allows you to choose the benefits and coverage levels that best meet your needs and those of your family. Medical Benefit eligibility starts the first of the month following the first 30 days of employment.
Medical Options - MacCorkle offers a wide variety of medical plans, which differ in their costs, coverage levels, and specific plan provisions. Depending on your geographical location, your choices may include the following:
- Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) - A PPO plan, Blue Cross Premier PPO, allows you to use a broad range of coverage and services with little restriction on which physicians to see and/or have services rendered to you. As a member of the PPO program, services provided with an In Network provider are compensated at a higher level.
- Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) - An HMO Plan, Blue Cross of California or Kaiser, provides a high level of benefits but requires you to use only the HMO provider - except in emergencies. Certain guidelines must be followed to maximize your benefit coverage.
Vision Options - Vision care benefits are offered on a voluntary basis through AIG/MES, and you may pick any licensed optometrist that you wish for your vision care needs.
Dental Options - MacCorkle offers two dental options which differ in their coverage levels and specific plan provisions. Dental options include the following:
- Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) - A dental PPO allows you to use any licensed dentist. However, dentists in the PPO network provide dental services according to a reduced fee schedule, thereby lowering your out-of-pocket costs.
- Dental Maintenance Organization (DMO) - The DMO option provides a high level of benefits but requires you to use only DMO dentists.
Long Term Care – a base plan is automatically provided by MacCorkle, with the option for you to buy-up coverage through payroll deductions. There is the utmost flexibility above the base plan, with options such as inflation protection, home care, higher benefit levels, extended duration and qualifying relatives.
Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) - The FSA Plan allows you to pay for certain health-care and dependent-care expenses on a tax-free basis. Employees must re-enroll in the FSA Plan during open enrollment to participate in the following plan year.
- FSA Health Care - You are eligible to set aside pretax dollars to pay for eligible medical, dental, and vision expenses not covered by health insurance for you and your eligible dependents, up to a maximum amount per calendar year.
- FSA Dependent Care - You are eligible to set aside pretax dollars to pay for work-related dependent care expenses, such as licensed day care, up to a maximum of $5,000 per calendar year. MacCorkle subsidizes 30 percent of your FSA Dependent Care election if your household income is less than the designated maximum for the plan year.
Gym Membership Allowance - MacCorkle will reimburse you for ½ your monthly gym membership fee up to $50.
Health & Fitness Plans - MacCorkle has available to you a health and fitness plan through Healthy Roads. The program enables you to a personal health assessment, health plan, exercise and meal plan, on-line tracking and wellness information.
Survivor Income Plans
Employee Life/AD&D Insurance - MacCorkle automatically provides its employees the equivalent of your annual salary for both life insurance and AD&D coverage, up to a maximum of $350,000.
Income Protection Plans
Sick Leave - It’s important to take the time to get well when you’re sick or injured. At MacCorkle you accrue 5 days per year up to a maximum of 10 days.
Medical Leave - Long Term Disability (LTD) - If you are disabled for more than 90 calendar days, you may be eligible for LTD benefits. LTD benefits, along with any other disability benefits that you receive, are coordinated to provide a monthly benefit of 60 percent of your monthly pre-disability earnings to a maximum monthly benefit of $6,000.
Taking Time Off
When you work as hard as we do at MacCorkle, you need time to play, relax, and renew. MacCorkle provides regular employees with paid time off to help you find that work/life balance.
- Holidays - We observe the major holidays. Ten holidays in total.
- Vacation - Full-time employees accrue one day of vacation based on years of service at MacCorkle. Up to five years, 10 vacation days. Six to ten years, 15 vacation days. Eleven or more years, 20 days vacation.
Other Benefits
EAP - Employee Assistance Program, a professional counseling and referral service designed to help you with your personal, job or family problems. It is free, voluntary and strictly confidential.
Tuition Reimbursement - With your manager’s approval, you are eligible for tuition reimbursement for job-related courses and continuing education requirements, at an accredited institution. Upon completion of an approved course with a grade of B or better, you are eligible for reimbursement of your tuition expenses and required books.
Licenses - With management approval, you are eligible for reimbursement for job-related license fees.
Professional Memberships & Subscriptions - MacCorkle pays for professional organization membership fees and subscriptions that are directly job related and approved by your manager.
Credit Union - as an employee of MacCorkle, you are eligible to join San Mateo Credit Union and receive the benefits as a member.
