Auto insurance can be packaged to include various coverage types, including:

  • Bodily Injury: Covers other people's bodily injuries or death for which the insured is responsible. It also provides for a legal defense if another party in the accident files a lawsuit against the insured.
  • Comprehensive Coverage: Covers the insured’s vehicle and other vehicles (in limited scenarios) the insured may be driving for losses resulting from incidents other than collision.
  • Property Damage: Covers the insured’s property damage when the negligent operator does not possess insurance.
  • Collision Insurance: Covers damage to insured’s car when the car hits or is hit by another vehicle or other object.
  • Uninsured Motorists: Covers the insured, members of the insured’s household and passengers for bodily/personal injuries, damages or death caused by an at-fault, uninsured or hit-and-run driver.
  • Medical Payments: Covers within the specified limits, the medical, hospital and funeral expenses of the insured, others in the involved vehicles and pedestrians struck by the insured’s vehicle.
